In this tutorial, I’ll try to simulate candle light, using fume FX. This is a very simple scene. Please note that this scene is modeled in 3DSMax 2010 so you will need this version of the software to open the project files. Anyway if you follow the tutorial you can complete it in any previous version of the software. Go to the bottom of this page to download video tutorial and project files.

I’ve started this tutorial by modeling a simple candle.
For texturing i’ve used the final render wax material
(http://www.cebas.de/products/feature.php?UD=10-7888-35-788&PID=36&FID=550)
and final shader wet material (http://www.cebas.de/products/feature.php?UD=10-7888-35-788&PID=45&FID=399).
If you do not use Final Render you can use 3DSMax’s standard materials.
